From the moment I climbed the towering (and somewhat dangerous) pine tree in my backyard in upstate New York as a 10-year-old boy, I’ve lived by one principle: there are no limits to what’s possible. I was the only one who was willing to climb to the top, and while others saw the climb as impossible, I saw an invitation to explore.
That defining moment set the tone for my life – a journey fueled by curiosity, courage, and a drive to live an EXTRAORDINARY life.
but my “spiritual inheritance,” so to speak, was clear.
My grandfather, great uncle, and great, great uncle were all ministers (and one was even a bishop!). Their wisdom and spiritual connection flowed through me before I could consciously realize it.
led me to scuba diving certifications and plans to become a marine biologist, and even an early bout into entrepreneurship, where I joined the team that launched Pizza Hut Delivery in 1988 (yes, you can thank me for your late-night pepperoni cravings).
I found myself standing outside the chemistry building at University of California – Santa Cruz, and I knew, “This is where I’m going to school!” Mind and heart clear, I quit my job, sold everything I owned, and moved cross-country ready to start fresh. Plot twist: I was waitlisted, but persistence (and a pinch of stubbornness) got me in, and natural products chemistry became my playground.
The summer of 2000 changed my life in an instant. I had a profound experience that turbo-charged my belief that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. As anyone who’s had a transcendent experience will know, it’s impossible to describe without sounding insane, so I’ll spare you the details. But I discovered truths that transcended logic and science, and I joined a sense of oneness with the universe.
There was no going back. I realigned my life. My work, my gifts, my passions were now channels to harness spiritual energy in the physical world. But life was not done testing me. In 2009, I hit rock bottom and lost everything. I found myself living out of my tent with $11 to my name. Abandoned even by those closest to me, I had to discover the light once more.
Today, my work is an extension of everything I’ve learned and lived. I bring that same audacity to everything I do—whether it’s pioneering AI-powered health tech solutions in natural products, mentoring others in the world of supplements and innovation, sharing insights from my poetry, inspiration from my painting, a new culinary experience, or energetic singing.
So here I am—a scientist, a teacher, a spiritual seeker, an entrepreneur, and a karaoke enthusiast who still can’t quite hit the high notes. My story continues to unfold – dancing around science and the heart. Through my many passions – including art, music, poetry – I explore the journey within myself and help guide others along that journey too.
Showing up for yourself as yourself - real, raw, and unpolished. Let go of the masks to embrace your truth.
The fuel that drives exploration and growth. Ask big questions: the more you stay curious, the more you grow.
Life doesn’t hand you what you want. Be persistent with life - The world rewards those who refuse to quit.
We’re not meant to do life alone. Connection is the thread that weaves our experience together.
There is no extraordinary without challenge. Your ability to rise from setbacks will be what defines you.
